NoiZ guitar duo are Pedro Izquierdo (Spain) and Dora Nakou (Greece). The two guitarists first met in the University of Arts Mozarteum in Salzburg, where they had the chance to study under the supervision of Eliot Fisk, Matthias Seidel, Ricardo Gallén and Marco Tamayo. Since 2009 they perform regularly in international festivals and chamber music concert circles in Europe and Middle East. They have collaborated with organisations such as the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Live Music Now, the Ateneul Roman in Bucharest, the Instituto Cervantes in several european countries, the Megaron Concert Hall in Thessaloniki and the Spanish Embassy in Berlin and in Teheran, among others. Their repertoire encloses different music eras, from baroque till contemporary music, both original compositions as well as their own transcriptions, some of those published by Ediciones Eudora. Composers Konstantin Vassiliev, Simone Fontanelli, Agustín Castilla-Ávila, Rubén Parejo and Orestis Kalampalikis have dedicated some of their compositions to NoiZ guitar duo. Their debut CD “Portraits” was recorded in the University of Arts Mozarteum in 2009. Their second album “dos” was published by the german label KSG in 2014. Dora Nakou and Pedro Izquierdo live in Berlin, where they combine their artistic and educational practice.

Pedro Izquierdo, born in Cartagena (Spain) in 1983, begins his guitar studies in the age of 10 in the Music Conservatories of Almansa and Valencia and studies with the professors Pedro Jesús Gómez, Marco Smaili, Rubén Parejo and Antonio Galindo. Pedro Izquierdo graduates with a degree of Professional (2003) and Superior (2007) with Excellent grade and Special Awards with Honours. He makes his debut as a soloist with orchestra in the age of 15. He has attended masterclasses of Carles Trepat, Ricardo Gallén, Joaquin Clerch, David Russell and Duo Melis and has been awarded in several national guitar competitions. In 2008 and 2009 Pedro Izquierdo is awarded a scholarship from Junta de Comunidades de Castilla- La Mancha for the completion of his studies in University of Arts Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria) under the supervision of Matthias Seidel and Marco Tamayo. In December 2009 he graduates with the degree of Master of Arts, Excellent grade and Honours, in the University of Arts Mozarteum. In January 2010 he successfully auditions for Hochschule für Musik Weimar (Germany) in the class of Ricardo Gallén and continues his studies with specialization in Chamber Music. Pedro Izquierdo is a teacher of classical guitar in the State Conservatories of Havelland and Potsdam-Mittelmark in Brandenburg (Germany).

Dora Nakou, born in Thessaloniki (Greece) in 1983, begins her guitar studies in the age of 10 with Loucia Samourkas and graduates from the Filippos Nakas Conservatory Thessaloniki in 2004, with Excellent grade, First Prize and Honorable Mention for distinguished interpretation. She has participated in masterclasses with various distinguished guitarists and musicians, such as Roberto Aussel, Roland Dyens, Frederic Hand, Jeremy Jouve, Timo Korhonen, Carlo Marchione, Evangelos Assimakopoulos, Lisa Zoe, Dimitris Ioannou, Costas Cotsiolis and Duo Melis and has received several awards and honours in national guitar competitions in Greece. In September 2007 Dora Nakou is accepted in the University of Arts Mozarteum in Salzburg, in the class of Eliot Fisk and Ricardo Gallen, and she completes her studies by taking both the Bachelor (June 2008) and the Master of Arts (November 2010) with Excellent grade and Honours. In January 2010 she is accepted in the Hochschule für Musik Weimar in the class of Ricardo Gallén and continues her studies with specialization in Chamber Music. Dora Nakou is a teacher of classical guitar in the State Conservatories of Havelland and Potsdam-Mittelmark in Brandenburg and Reinickendorf in Berlin (Germany).
